A White and Light-Filled Bathroom in Tequesta Built for Evening Guests and Weekend Visitors Alike

Bathroom Remodeling

Project Overview

Dark, Dated, and Chopped Up. Now Bright, Elegant, and Full of Light.

These Tequesta clients needed a bathroom that could serve as a powder bath for evening entertaining and a guest bath for weekend visitors – elegant, sophisticated, and consistent with other remodels DreamMaker had done in the home. A dated bathtub and dark walls were chopped up the space. DreamMaker removed the tub, installed a freestanding clawfoot, changed the shower window to clear glass, added frameless glass around the shower, and brought in a furniture-style vanity. Light floods every corner.

About The Neighborhood

Tequesta, Florida is one of Palm Beach County’s most desirable small communities, known for its quiet, upscale neighborhoods, natural beauty, and laid-back coastal lifestyle. Tucked along the Intracoastal and just minutes from beaches, it offers a relaxed pace of life with easy access to dining, recreation, and nearby Jupiter’s vibrant amenities.

The Challenge

What Wasn’t Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

A dated built-in tub and dark walls making the space feel heavy and chopped up
An opaque shower window blocking natural light from entering the space
No glass around the shower - limiting light movement throughout the room
A standard cabinet base that felt generic rather than elegant

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“The room was dark before and now it’s completely transformed by natural light. The clawfoot tub, the clear shower window, the glass enclosure – DreamMaker thought through every detail. It’s beautiful.”

The Solution

Built Around Light, Elegance, and Dual Purpose.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Dated built-in tub and walls removed to open up the space
Freestanding clawfoot tub installed as the room's statement piece
Bright white tile replacing the dark surfaces throughout
Shower window changed to clear glass to maximize natural light
Glass added around the shower to allow light to move freely throughout the previously dark room
New vanity cabinet with furniture-style aesthetic rather than a standard cabinet base
