A Vibrant Home Office in Palm City Built From a Guest Bedroom With Water Views

How DreamMaker converted a spare bedroom into an office/den - adding a pocket door, a built-in unit with file storage and hidden printer, and a vibrant wall color that pops against the cabinetry and the lake views beyond.

Project Overview

A Spare Bedroom. A New Purpose. A View Worth Working For.

Part of a full house remodel, this Palm City guest bedroom was ready for a new identity. The clients wanted a home office/den that didn’t feel like a converted bedroom – and DreamMaker delivered exactly that. A new pocket door created a proper entry and made the space feel purpose-built. The built-in office unit with hanging file storage, a hidden printer rollout, and both open and closed storage organized everything. And the vibrant wall color chosen by the clients is the perfect contrast to the cabinetry and the water views beyond.

About The Neighborhood

Palm City, Florida is one of the Treasure Coast’s most desirable communities, known for its quiet neighborhoods, scenic waterfronts, and family-friendly atmosphere. With a relaxed pace of life and convenient access to nearby shopping, dining, and beaches, Palm City offers an ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and coastal living.

The Challenge

What Wasn’t Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“The pocket door made all the difference – it makes the office feel like it was always meant to be there. And the wall color against the cabinetry and the water view is something we show everyone who visits.”

The Solution

Built Around Purpose, Organization, and That View.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Guest bedroom converted into a home office/den as part of a whole house remodel
Pocket door added to create a proper entry and make the space feel intentional
Built-in office unit with hanging file storage for organized document management
Hidden printer rollout built into the cabinetry - concealing the equipment without sacrificing access
Both open and closed storage incorporated throughout the unit
Vibrant wall color selected by the clients as the perfect contrast to the custom cabinetry and the outdoor water views
