Project Overview

Columns as a Challenge. Views as the Goal.

This Palm City living room was part of a whole house remodel and sat adjacent to the kitchen. The structural columns presented real design challenges, but DreamMaker found a solution that turned them into part of the character: replacing the windows with open display cases and floating glass shelves that enhanced natural light and drew the eye to the beautiful landscape beyond. The result is a fun, bright, and inviting space designed for relaxation and great views.

About The Neighborhood

Palm City, Florida is one of the Treasure Coast’s most desirable communities, known for its quiet neighborhoods, scenic waterfronts, and family-friendly atmosphere. With a relaxed pace of life and convenient access to nearby shopping, dining, and beaches, Palm City offers an ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and coastal living.

The Challenge

What Wasn’t Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“The open display cases were inspired – they solved the column problem and made the views the focal point. We sit in this room every evening and love it.”

The Solution

Built to Let the Landscape In.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Structural columns incorporated into the design rather than worked around
Windows replaced with open display cases and floating glass shelves
Natural light enhanced and beautiful outdoor landscape made the visual centerpiece of the room
Adequate storage and functionality provided while complementing the adjacent new kitchen
Fun, bright, and inviting coastal living space created for relaxation and connection to the outdoors
