A Home Office With a Lake View in Palm City Built From an Enclosed Outdoor Patio

Project Overview

A Long-Term Client. A New Kind of Space. A View Worth Every Penny.

After years of working together on kitchens and bathrooms, these Palm City clients came back to DreamMaker with a new need: a dedicated home office. After exploring options throughout the home, the team landed on enclosing the outdoor patio – a move that delivered the lake view the clients specifically wanted to maximize. The result is a beautiful workspace with a two-person desk, hidden printer, file storage, decorative bookcases, and a view that makes work genuinely enjoyable.

About The Neighborhood

Palm City, Florida is one of the Treasure Coast’s most desirable communities, known for its quiet neighborhoods, scenic waterfronts, and family-friendly atmosphere. With a relaxed pace of life and convenient access to nearby shopping, dining, and beaches, Palm City offers an ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and coastal living.

The Challenge

What Wasn’t Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

No dedicated home office space anywhere in the existing interior
A need for two people to work simultaneously without feeling crowded
Storage requirements for abundant files and a printer that needed to be concealed
A lake view worth preserving and maximizing rather than blocking with furniture

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“DreamMaker has done so much for this home over the years. The office was their best work yet. The lake view from the desk is something we look forward to every single day.”

The Solution

Built Around the View and Everything Needed to Work Well.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Outdoor patio enclosed and converted into a fully interior home office
Two-person desk designed so both occupants can work simultaneously without interfering with each other
Dedicated file storage built in for organized document management
Hidden printer rollout integrated into the cabinetry
Decorative bookcases added for display and additional storage
Lake view behind the house maximized as the visual and inspirational centerpiece of the room
