Project Overview
They Knew They Needed a Change. They Didn't Know the Wall Had to Go.
This client visited DreamMaker’s Stuart design center knowing a kitchen refresh was needed but unsure how to approach it. A home visit from the design consultant made the answer clear: the wall between the kitchen and dining area had to come down. After seeing the design in ProKitchen and an Oculus VR headset, the client agreed immediately. The result is a stunning transformation – and the family room is now a private guest suite.

The Challenge
What Wasn’t Working
- A wall separating the kitchen from the dining area - blocking light, flow, and connection
- Dated Thermofoil cabinets needing full replacement
- An arched window over the sink clashing with a modern direction
- Appliances in the wrong locations limiting refrigerator and oven size
- An underutilized wet bar with no design character
Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

Built Around an Open Plan and Every Upgrade They Wanted.
To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.
Key Improvements included:
- Wall between kitchen and dining removed to create an open, light-filled layout
- Dated Thermofoil cabinets replaced with Showplace Wood Products in white for wall cabinets and dark grey for the island
- White quartz countertops with grey and brown veining throughout
- Backsplash redesigned to modernize the arched window over the sink
- Gas line added to the island for a new cooktop
- Two oversized black lantern pendant lights added above the island as a bold focal point
- Appliances reconfigured to accommodate a larger refrigerator and double oven
- Built-in wet bar completely transformed with new cabinets, countertop, and statement backsplash
- Existing family room walled off to create a separate space for a sofa bed guest suite
