A Custom Storage Wall in Southeast Florida Built From a Single Empty Dining Room Wall
How DreamMaker transformed a bare wall into a banquette, an LED-lit cubby display, hidden side-wall storage doors, and ultimately a custom dining table - all born from one designer's visit and one installer's brilliant idea.

About The Neighborhood
Southeast Florida is one of the state’s most sought-after regions, known for its vibrant coastal communities, year-round sunshine, and relaxed lifestyle. From established neighborhoods to growing communities, the region offers the perfect blend of waterfront living, modern conveniences, and easy access to shopping, dining, and recreation.
The Challenge
What Wasn’t Working
- Downsizing had eliminated storage the client depended on
- No obvious solution for adding meaningful storage in a smaller space
- A large empty dining room wall going completely unused
- Banquette concept feeling too long without visual relief
Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

Built From a Single Wall Into an Entire Feature.
To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.
Key Improvements included:
- Banquette seating designed along the wall with under-seat access for large-item storage
- Protruding accent wall added to break up the length and add visual depth
- LED tape-lit cubbies built in for displaying accent pieces and family photos
- Hidden doors created on the side walls below the cubbies - a field installer's idea - providing additional concealed storage within the wall itself
- 3D renderings used to bring the full accent wall concept to life before build
- Custom dining table built at project completion using the same Showplace Wood Cabinetry finish as the floating shelves
