Project Overview

Dark and Dated. Now a Luxurious Modern Mountain Spa.

This Reno master bathroom was dark, dated, and undersized for the luxury the homeowners wanted. The goal was to maximize the footprint, add genuine character and storage, and create a spa-like atmosphere with a modern mountain feel. DreamMaker delivered crisp white cabinetry, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, a freestanding tub, island pebble shower floor, custom organized closet, a barn door to match the one already in the home, and a replaced skylight for natural light. A 2023 Dream Award finalist result.

About The Neighborhood

Reno, Nevada is a fast-growing city known for mountain views, outdoor living, and job growth. With a revitalized downtown and a mix of established and new neighborhoods, it offers an energetic yet relaxed pace near the Sierra Nevada.

The Challenge

What Was Not Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

A dark, dated bathroom that felt too small and offered insufficient luxury or storage
No spa character - nothing that created a genuine sense of retreat
An outdated skylight limiting natural light
A large shower window providing inadequate privacy
No organised closet system - disorganised storage throughout

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“The Lechner bathroom is a stunning example of what DreamMaker can achieve – luxury, function, and that unmistakable modern mountain character all in one space.”
