Project Overview

A Guest Suite Worth Staying In.

This Magnolia guest suite had a bathroom in need of a full update – shower, vanity, and flooring all dated – plus a small closet that wasn’t pulling its weight. DreamMaker selected a clean grey and white transitional palette, expanded the closet for real storage, and installed a sliding bypass barn door that gave the entire suite a fresh, intentional character.

About The Neighborhood

Magnolia is one of North Houston’s most sought-after communities — a quiet, family-friendly town with spacious properties, heavily wooded neighborhoods, and an easy pace that belies its proximity to the region’s booming business corridors.

The Challenge

What Wasn’t Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

An outdated shower, vanity, and flooring throughout the guest bathroom
A small closet with insufficient storage for guests staying more than a night
No design cohesion between the bathroom and the closet space
Builder-standard double doors on the closet eating into usable floor space

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“Any guest who stays in this suite now walks away impressed. The transformation is that complete – it feels like a boutique hotel room rather than a spare bedroom.”

The Solution

Built Around How Guests Actually Experience the Space.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Full bathroom update including new shower, vanity, and LVP flooring throughout
Grey and white transitional style carried consistently through every finish
Closet expanded to provide meaningful storage for guests
Sliding bypass barn door installed replacing the builder-standard closet doors
Emser tile, Pulse Shower Spas, Moen fixtures, and quartz countertop completing the suite
