Project Overview
Transforming a Bentonville Barndominium Kitchen
When the homeowner purchased a barndominium on a 55-acre farm in Bentonville, the existing kitchen lacked the warmth and personality she desired. As an artist with an on-site studio, she needed a space that reflected her creative eye while offering a simple, cozy feel. Working closely with DreamMaker, the design was tailored to highlight her artistic sensibilities and accommodate hosting her children and grandchildren.
By maintaining the original layout, the team executed a seamless pull-and-replace project focused on rich textures, contrasting colors, and quality materials. Crisp white KCD cabinets, sparkling quartz countertops, and a custom blue island transformed the space into a cheerful hub for everyday family moments and holiday celebrations.

About The Neighborhood
Located in a sought-after Bentonville neighborhood, this spacious residence benefits from expansive architecture and light-filled layouts. Upgrading the kitchen allowed the home’s interior design to match the prestige and high standards of the surrounding community.
The Challenge
Outdated Finishes and Mismatched Style
- Outdated, heavy stained wood cabinets darkened the room.
- Worn Formica countertops lacked modern durability and style.
- Mixed carpet and tile flooring fragmented the floor plan.
- Existing finishes failed to reflect the owner's artistic taste.
Though functional, the original kitchen felt dark and lacked character suited to its farm surroundings. The client wanted a vibrant, welcoming design made for hosting family.
BEFORE:
“Mary helped me design and select the materials to replace a tub shower combination with a walk-in tile shower. The completed shower came out just as I envisioned it and I am extremely satisfied. I would certainly make DreamMaker the first stop in any future remodeling I may desire.”
