Project Overview

Imagination. Skilled Craftsmanship. And a Sense of Humour.

This client came to DreamMaker looking for someone with imagination, skilled craftsmanship, and a sense of humour. She was full of life and great ideas, had lived in her 1955 home for some time, and was simply tired of looking at her master bathroom. She wanted to maintain the character of that era while achieving an updated look – and she had very clear opinions about exactly what that should look like. DreamMaker delivered.

About The Neighborhood

Colorado Springs is one of Colorado’s most sought-after communities — a vibrant, family-friendly city with beautiful homes, scenic neighborhoods, and an easy pace that belies its proximity to the Front Range’s booming economic corridor.

The Challenge

What Was Not Working

Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:

A dated master bathroom the homeowner had grown tired of
The need to honour the 1955 era of the home while achieving a genuinely updated feel
A tub that was never used but needed to stay - replaced with a small clawfoot to maintain the era's character
A client with strong personality and clear design vision who needed a team willing to match her energy

Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

BEFORE:

“She came to us looking for someone with imagination, skilled craftsmanship, and a sense of humor. The result is a fun, lively master bath that reflects her personality and honours the era of her home perfectly.”

The Solution

Built to Match the Client's Personality and the Era of the Home.

To solve the bathroom’s layout and style challenges, DreamMaker redesigned the master bath with improved flow, custom storage, natural light, and a clean modern finish. Removing the unused Jacuzzi unlocked the footprint entirely, custom cabinetry made every inch purposeful, and thoughtful material choices brought the spa-like atmosphere the homeowners had always wanted.

Key Improvements included:

Small clawfoot tub installed in place of the original - maintaining era character while providing a fresh new look
Shower updated with new finishes and fixtures
Design throughout carefully calibrated to honour the 1955 era while feeling genuinely updated
Every decision made collaboratively with a client who brought imagination and great ideas to every conversation
