Project Overview
Fifteen Years Was Long Enough.
These Waco homeowners had lived with their small, outdated kitchen for 15 years. They knew what they wanted – bigger, more user-friendly – and they came to DreamMaker to figure out how. After a home visit and a collaborative design process, the team made layout adjustments and refinished the space with the homeowners’ personal touches built in: a mini fridge specifically for condiments, and an aquarium. The finished kitchen is homey yet modern – warm and cool elements combined into a kitchen that feels genuinely like theirs.

About The Neighborhood
Waco is one of Central Texas’s most sought-after communities — a vibrant, family-friendly city with historic charm, welcoming neighborhoods, and an easy pace that belies its position right in the middle of the state’s booming I-35 corridor.
The Challenge
What Wasn’t Working
- A small, outdated kitchen the homeowners had tolerated for 15 years
- A layout that was not as user-friendly or spacious as they needed
- No personalised touches that reflected who this couple actually is
Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.
BEFORE:
“The finished kitchen is homey yet modern, with warm and cool elements that all add up to a gorgeous and functional kitchen of our dreams.”

Key Improvements included:
- Layout adjustments made to increase the usable space and improve flow
- Space refinished throughout with a fresh, updated aesthetic
- Mini fridge specifically for condiments built into the design as a personal functional feature
- Aquarium incorporated as a distinctive design element reflecting the homeowners' personality
- Warm and cool design elements balanced to create a space that is homey yet modern
