In fact, a water closet only houses a toilet and has only enough room for one person to use it at a time. With the toilet in a separate enclosure, you don’t have to worry about baths or grooming time being disrupted because someone needs to use the toilet. You also can keep unwelcome odors contained in the water closet.

On the other hand, keep in mind that dedicating an enclosed area to a toilet will use up extra space. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the bathroom upgrade for you. If you have room to spare and don’t have a problem with tight spaces, why not? If you’re pressed for space, however, think long and hard if having a water closet will really make that much of a difference to your everyday life.
