Is a Water Closet for You?

A bathroom remodeling project is your opportunity to add something you’ve always wanted! For some, this can mean a bigger bathtub or a double vanity, while others may want to invest in a water closet (or toilet room). Should you do the same? Consider the pros and cons of a water closet to help you decide.

Water Closet Pros

A water closet (being that it’s an enclosed space) can provide you with all the privacy you’ll ever want. In fact, a water closet only houses a toilet and has only enough room for one person to use it at a time. With the toilet in a separate enclosure, you don’t have to worry about baths or grooming time being disrupted because someone needs to use the toilet. You also can keep unwelcome odors contained in the water closet.

Water Closet Cons

On the other hand, keep in mind that dedicating an enclosed area to a toilet will use up extra space. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the bathroom upgrade for you. If you have room to spare and don’t have a problem with tight spaces, why not? If you’re pressed for space, however, think long and hard if having a water closet will really make that much of a difference to your everyday life.
