Communication 101: Tips on Working With Your DreamMaker Designer

At DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Wilmington, we follow a standard process that helps us ensure the satisfaction of our clients and the quality of every project that we handle. The first step in our remodeling process is the meeting between you, the client, and a DreamMaker designer.

We strongly believe that good communication is one of the keys to ensuring the success of any improvement project, be it a minor kitchen remodel or whole house interior remodeling. We have a few tips on how you can best work with your DreamMaker designer so he or she can better understand your goals and turn them into reality!

Show & Tell

You probably have a Pinterest board full of room design inspirations you’ve found online. Share these with your designer! In addition to those that you like, compile photos of rooms that you don’t like. This way, you can describe to the designer why you love a design or style element. You can also tell the designer the elements that you wouldn’t want in your own home. Try to be as specific as possible, but be open to the designer’s recommendations too.

Start With an Item That Matters to You

It’s possible you don’t have any ideas and you don’t know where to begin. What you can do is start with an object that you want to incorporate into the room you’re remodeling, such as an antique chandelier or a favorite piece of furniture. Tell your designer about that item or, better yet, show it to them so you can both work on a suitable design.

Let Your Designer Help

If your ideas are all over the place, let our designer help you sort them out. You can look at photos of our previous projects to see if any of them suits your taste. Then our designer can suggest ways to personalize the design further.
