The calendar has rolled around and once again the most wonderful time of the year is before us. If life for you is full and busy then the last thing you want is for your home appliances to conk out on you during the holidays. A few years ago my friend told me her garbage disposal broke down only on holidays and without fail, her husband would have to crawl under the kitchen sink to take apart and refresh or replace it. She had no idea that the potato peels she was putting down the drain was the problem. At the end of the day, the wonderful meal was served but with extra stress. Who needs more stress? Simply throw away veggie trimmings and peels, or even better, compost them to avoid needed repair to the garbage disposal and to truly help make it the most wonderful time of the year.
