Our gallery highlights kitchen, bathroom, and interior renovations we have completed throughout St. Louis Park and the surrounding 11-county metro area. Multi-Generational Concept Auxiliary Dwelling Unit: Kitchen
Our clients’ aging parents needed a convenient place to live and liked the idea of living near their son and daughter-in-law but still maintaining their privacy and independence. Since potential disability was a factor, the home needed to be accessible. The solution was a stacked-up ADU (accessory dwelling unit) built above the two-car garage at our clients’ home in the city. We successfully designed the critical kitchen and bath areas by blending accessibility features and modern aesthetics. Here is the kitchen.
Everything needed for cooking is included in the compact and efficient 11-foot long kitchen. The high-quality studio-sized appliances include a 3-tier 18-inch dishwasher, a 24-inch induction range with a recirculating vent hood above, a 24” refrigerator and a microwave drawer. The cabinets are two-toned TFL (thermally fused laminate). In place of handles, servo-drive motors push the doors and drawers out with a gentle touch, providing a streamlined look and an accessibility aid for dexterity issues. A 24” working sink is set in the quartz countertop.

A combo washer/dryer saves space and is easily accessible. The roll-up vanity is also accessible, with a quartz top, single handle faucet, and undercounter night lighting. The mirror-fronted medicine cabinet integrates variated interior shelving and ample side lighting. The toilet is fitted with an accessible bidet seat. The ramped roll-in shower features solid surface wall panels with and back wall sea shell panel insert. An adjustable hand-held shower incorporates a grab bar. Accessories include a fold-down seat and soap and shampoo shelves also with grab bars incorporated. The combination of materials give a modern high quality look yet are easy to maintain.
We brought this untouched gem of a 1950’s California ranch rambler into the 21st century while still keeping true to the style of the home. As per the homeowner’s wishes, we brought in natural elements to reinforce the connection to the outdoors and extensively remodeled the kitchen to greatly improve efficiency.
“Many years ago we used DreamMaker to design a complete remodel of our Kitchen. That work has stood the test of time, so when it came time to do our bathroom remodel it was a natural choice to engage them again.
Fantastic results! Great advice on materials and design choices and their craftsmen on the job couldn’t have been better. They showed up when they said they would, kept the place clean after every workday and met every challenge this old house threw at them. On time, on budget and top quality. Who could ask for more?!”

“DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen was excellent from the time we asked for a meeting to discuss our kitchen project to the last follow up after project completion. Lynn, owner and manager, was always available and helpful. When we decided to make an addition to our original project we did not hesitate to call them. We are very glad we chose them.”

“I appreciated the care and thought that went into the entire process. Attention to detail. Respect for me and my property. Ability to deal with the inconvenience of working on a 4th floor condo as well as unexpected issues related to the building. The finished bathroom is amazing.”
