Open House Kitchen

Project Name
Open House Kitchen
Project Summary
Our clients moved to a townhouse that needed some work before they could call it their home. Our remodel opened the kitchen to the dining and living rooms to create a large entertainment space with a modern new kitchen serving all their cooking and hosting needs.
Project Story
Our clients are tea and wine enthusiasts and enjoy entertaining. They recently moved into a townhome with a kitchen that was dated, felt small, and did not have enough storage space -- kitchen paraphernalia was still stored in cardboard moving boxes. Our designer came up with 3 possible plans rendered by CAD with full color perspectives from which the final plan was chosen. We removed an end wall to open sightlines and create a great cooking wall, which was extended to the ceiling to add an outside vent (healthier and cleaner than the existing recirculating fan). A bar cabinet added at the end facing the dining room is convenient for entertaining. The kitchen was further opened when we removed the peninsula on the opposite side and extended the cabinets into the dining area, placing the frig at the end where an open frig door could be easily circumnavigated. The new cabinets themselves were designed with efficient, functional storage in mind, such as the flip-up garages (one as a charging station), and the lowered upper cabinets are easily accessible for the petite cook. A mix of materials enriches the kitchen, with stained wood bases and lighter painted uppers, a warm taupe quartz countertop with depth of color and pattern, and backsplash tile with an aged, hand-thrown look. LVT installed throughout the public areas provide continuity and flexibility with dining and seating arrangements. Why DreamMaker
We were referred to this couple by a neighbor who was a real estate agent who had worked with former clients of ours who spoke highly of us. They needed a design-build company who would design options and help narrow their choices and handle all the details of construction, and they found a good fit with our company.
Customer Testimonials
They were so pleased with the remodel that they hosted a “kitchen warming” with us! We served wine and treats and answered questions as our clients entertained their friends and neighbors with their remodeling story.
