The Boys’ Bath

Project Name
The Boys' Bath
Project Summary
This project was for a couple for whom we had previously designed and installed a kitchen remodel. Now they had us work on their hall bathroom that is primarily used by their two sons but also functions as a guest bath. We turned the tired, worn room into a practical bathroom for the boys to use on a daily basis as well as an aesthetically pleasing restroom for visitors.
Project Story
Our clients wanted the bathroom to be attractive for guests but easy to use and clean (because, two sons!). They were not looking to move any walls or change any plumbing locations for this remodel, and were open to reusing anything worth saving. The toilet was fairly new and therefore remained and the mirror was refreshed with a new frame and modern corner buttons, but everything else was replaced, including the popcorn ceiling. A new textured laminate vanity with solid surface countertop and integral sink are durable and easy maintenance, as is the grout-free laminate wet-wall system installed as the tub surround and continued along the far wall. The subtle matchstick pattern on the wet-wall panels was repeated in the custom etched glass shower door, with the pattern gradually fading on the door to evoke a waterfall, a vision the client expressed. Sustainable Marmoleum flooring adds comfort underfoot and another layer of striated pattern, with solid surface baseboard a defining edge. Electrical upgrades include a new vent fan/light and a new striking ceiling mounted light fixture to replace the old track lighting. New brushed nickel faucetry and accessories and stainless-steel shower niche finish the neutral, textural design.                                                                BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS OF THE PROJECT:                                                                                                                                                                              PHOTOS OF THE MATCHSTICK PATTERN ON WET-WALL PANELS AND GLASS DOOR:                                                                                                           DETAIL PHOTO OF THE RE-FRAMED MIRROR:                                                                                                                                                                  DETAIL PHOTO OF THE LAMINATE WET-WALL, MARMOLEUM FLOORING, AND SOLID SURFACE BASEBOARD:

Why DreamMaker
We were delighted to get the call from this couple to work with them on their bathroom. They were repeat clients, and appreciated the kitchen we had previously designed and remodeled for them. They both have an eye for design and we enjoyed collaborating with them on both projects.
Customer Testimonials
When our clients arrived home to find the bathroom completed, they emailed us a note: "It looks fabulous! Now we're of course scared to use it and don't want to get it dirty! A great job throughout and we appreciate the hard work. Thanks for getting this completed so well and a full day ahead of schedule."
