Kitchen Long Planned

Project Name
Kitchen Long Planned
Project Summary
This kitchen remodel was 20-plus years in the planning. It was a priority when our clients first moved in, but then life happened. Finally, the driving force was the need for new appliances, and that opened the door to many possibilities for our clients’ new kitchen. Our designer interpreted their ideas and presented several plans that were narrowed down to the one for the kitchen that became the heart of their home.
Project Story
Opening up the kitchen was debated from adding a “window” beside the door to the dining room to totally removing that wall, and the compromise was somewhere in the middle – combining the “window” and enlarged doorway into one large opening. Soffits were removed to extend wall cabinets to the ceiling, and a new lighting system implemented. The sink remains under the window, but the refrigerator was moved to the opposite wall and flanked by a tall pantry cabinet and a drop-off counter/coffee bar. The handsome new range, with a back-painted Lumicor panel above it, was pulled out from the corner into the center of the wall to form a focal point cooking wall. It also affords additional prep zones for the wife, who is an accomplished cook.  Narrow pull-outs flank the range for oils and spices, and a blind corner pull-out conveniently houses pots and pans. The two-tone cabinets, brushed bronze faucetry, quartz countertops, composite sink, and soft yellow painted walls illustrate our clients’ appreciation of color.   HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS AFTER THE REMODEL WAS COMPLETED:                                                 HERE ARE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS:                                                                              HERE ARE SOME DETAIL PHOTOS:                                                                                                                                                                                                       AND HERE ARE THE DESIGN INSPIRATIONS -- HER HANDMADE FABRIC WINDOW VALANCE AND THEIR FRAMED PRINT OF WILDFLOWERS AND PLANTS IN MINNEAPOLIS PARKS:

Why DreamMaker
This couple found us through NARI. They were looking for a company who could work with their design esthetic -- they loved color, and as we initially visited their house to see the project and what they had done in other rooms in their home, we knew this would be fun! At this first visit, they realized we had done remodeling projects for a family member and a friend, who both gave us enthusiastic thumbs up.
Customer Testimonials
“DreamMaker was absolutely wonderful in every way. From the beginning they were clear about the process and possible outcomes. They made selections for our options that were varied but right in line with what we asked for. And their confidence in the work they do and the people they have delivering the remodel was validated in the final product. They really did a phenomenal job, and everything is just the way we wanted it. Very highly recommended! Thanks very much all!”
