Pittsburgh - How Long Will My Bathroom Remodel Take?
Bathroom remodeling timelines vary based on style preferences, existing conditions and the size of your bathroom.
Deciding to remodel your bathroom(s) is a big and exciting decision, but the actual process of remodeling can be intimidating as there are a lot of decisions involved. At DreamMaker, we guide our clients through each stage of the remodeling process. Part of this process is crafting a personalized bathroom remodeling timeline for each client’s remodeling project in order to ensure clear communication and proactive measures.
The timeline of a bathroom renovation depends upon what type of remodeling project you are pursuing. Typically there are three main types of renovation projects including a cosmetic remodel, pull-and-replace remodel, and a custom bath remodel. If you are unsure which type of remodel is best for you, don’t worry. A DreamMaker designer will meet with you and together you all will discuss which type of remodeling project makes the most sense for how you are wanting to reimagine your bathroom(s). Once this is decided and your design is complete, your dedicated designer will be able to share with you exactly how long your bathroom remodel will take.
If your bathroom is starting to look more worn and torn than clean and sparkling, a cosmetic remodel might be just what your home needs. A cosmetic remodel includes upgrading the vanity, countertop, faucets, mirror, medicine cabinets, toilet, and bathroom accessories. The timeframe for this type of renovation typically lasts anywhere from 3 to 7 weeks 1-3 weeks of ordering and receiving materials, and only 2-4 weeks of construction.
A bathroom suffering from outdated vanities or in need of a tub-to-shower conversion may require a pull-and-replace remodel, which includes demolition of the existing space and incorporates a new bathtub/shower, faucets/fixtures, vanity cabinet, countertops, sink, toilet, flooring, and electrical/lighting. The average timeframe for a pull-and-replace remodel will last roughly 8 to 12 weeks which encompasses 4-6 weeks of ordering and receiving materials, and 4-6 weeks of active construction.
For a bathroom lacking functionality and style, a custom bath remodel is the best option to refresh beauty and layout. A custom bath remodel requires demolition of the existing space and may include new framing, relocation of plumbing & electrical, a soaking/jetted tub, a custom-designed shower, faucets/fixtures, designer cabinetry, countertops, sink, toilet, and flooring. The average timeframe for this type of renovation lasts roughly 6 to 14 weeks which includes 3-6 weeks of obtaining permits and ordering products, and 3-8 weeks of active construction.
At DreamMaker, we have systems in place to meet estimated timelines and communicate if any issues arise that could affect the timeline. Sometimes despite our best efforts in planning and execution, small issues arise that we will work through together to complete your remodel in the most efficient manner possible. This is normal in remodeling and we will work through these together.
