Position Lead Carpenter
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Stay current with current building code requirements  
  • Review production procedure before the project starts (utilizing checklists)
  • Purchase/pick up basic construction materials for each job (as needed) 
  • Review material staging package (utilizing checklists) from Buildertrend before transporting materials to jobsite
  • Schedule all trade partners and inspections and communicate with them regularly as schedule changes occur  
  • Attend pre-construction meeting with sales person and homeowner
  • Place job signs at job site  
  • Attend weekly production meetings  
  • Communicate daily with homeowners on progress of job and any potential issues  occurring or concerns they may have. Be able to resolve concerns in a mutually beneficial way  
  • Communicate daily with production manager on progress of each project you are  overseeing  
  • Manage time (i.e. hours allotted for each task) and project budget (i.e. materials and labor  apportioned to that particular project) to bring job in profitably  
  • Daily track time and tasks via App/software  
  • Collect payments from homeowner and deliver to office per payment schedule 
  • Communicate with scheduled trade partners each day to ensure they are on the job when  scheduled. Visit jobsite during their work to ensure quality of trade partner work is  acceptable and up to DreamMaker standards.  
  • Set up job for dust and floor protection  
  • Complete construction tasks not completed by trade partners (typically: demolition,  framing, LVP flooring installation, finish carpentry, cabinet installation, accessory  installation, clean up, minor painting or tile work, etc) 
  • Monitor budget on a daily basis with respect to labor and materials 
  • Keep work vehicles clean and stocked with necessary materials   
  • Review scope of work/specifications with homeowner  
  • Review change order requests with salesperson and process change orders as necessary  
  • Complete all checklists contained in Production Job Book for each project 
  • Complete job completion checklist and review with homeowner at the end of each job 
  • Pick up company job signs from job site after completion of job  
  • Ask for referrals throughout job  
  • Follow the DreamMaker Code of Values 
  • Keep clean appearance and wear DM-approved clothing
Education and Experience
  • Minimum: High School degree  
  • Preferred: BS Degree  
  • Or equivalent work experience, several years in construction field

Position Salesperson/Designer Job Opportunity
Salary Commensurate with experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Achieving the annual sales target at margin
  • Creating short and long term sales goals (monthly and yearly)
  • Reviewing sales targets weekly/monthly
  • Recording, responding to, and following up on all inquiries from prospective customers
  • Utilizing the DreamMaker 7-Step Sales System
  • Qualifying all incoming leads
  • Tracking all client information and lead follow-up in Buildertrend; this includes systematically updating the status of leads as they advance through the sales funnel daily
  • Managing design center staffing (if applicable)
  • Conducting Initial Client Meetings at the Design Center
  • Conducting all subsequent client meetings required to complete the sale
  • Visiting and measuring jobsites prior to creating a design
  • Designing projects using computer software and/or hand sketches to prepare creative project designs
  • Completing the preliminary and final project estimates at the company-determined GPM to provide the client a clear and detailed definition of the Scope of Work
  • Submitting proposals / estimates to the Sales Manager for review prior to presenting to the client and completing any necessary revisions
  • Preparing, completing, and executing all client contract documents (e.g. the Project Checklist, Initial SOW, Design Retainer, etc.)
  • Collecting the DreamMaker Design/Build Retainer
  • Obtaining bids from the necessary trade partners and suppliers to prepare the estimate
  • Quoting labor and trade partner Scope of Work
  • Assisting the homeowner in all product selections after completing the initial design
  • Completing necessary permit applications
  • Scheduling and attending the Sales to Production Hand-Off (Pre-Construction Walkthrough) meeting
  • Scheduling and attending the Sales to Production Hand-Off internal meeting in addition to the Pre-Construction Walkthrough with the Lead Carpenter(s) and client
  • Writing Change Orders when necessary and providing them to the Lead Carpenter to have signed by customer
  • Meeting with clients at job-close to present the warranty packet and request a critique on how the project went
  • Recording open issues at job closeout
  • Taking “Before” and “After” pictures at job-close
  • Soliciting referrals at job-close
  • Completing client thank-you letters at job close and providing to marketing for the end of project gift
  • Reviewing post job analyses
  • Submitting entries for design awards throughout the year
  • Attending sales team meetings
  • Attending staff home shows and other marketing events
  • Conducting 6-month / 12-month customer follow up calls
  • Tracking personal commissions
  • Submitting personal expense reports monthly
  • Submitting time sheets if applicable
  • Following the DreamMaker Code of Values
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales or related field
  • Or equivalent work experience, 5-10 years in related field and position
  • Minimum of two years of selling in the Kitchen and Bath Industry
  • Experience working with residential trade contractors (plumbing , electrical, HVAC, carpentry, countertops, drywall, tile and flooring)
  • Extensive sales background
  • Understanding of construction basics
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office applications
  • Design software experience with 20/20 or equivalent
