Project Overview
A Fresh Look Within the Same Footprint
This primary bathroom had a functional layout but was firmly stuck in the 1990s. A bulky tub deck, forest green diamond tile, brassy gold fixtures, dark oak cabinetry, and dark finishes made the space feel heavy and dated.
Rather than changing the footprint, the Layton-area remodel focused on transforming everything within it. A carefully angled freestanding tub created room for a larger shower, while bright finishes, warm wood details, and modern farmhouse elements turned the once-dark bathroom into a fresh and inviting retreat.

The Challenge
Stuck in the Nineties
- Bulky tub deck dominated the room
- Forest green diamond tile felt dated

- Dark oak cabinets made the space feel heavy
- Dark finishes overshadowed the vaulted ceiling
While the layout itself worked well, nearly every finish and fixture needed updating to create the bright, welcoming bathroom the homeowners envisioned.

A Bright Farmhouse Retreat
The existing footprint was preserved, but the room was completely refreshed from floor to ceiling. Angling the new freestanding tub maximized the available floor space and allowed for a larger frameless glass shower with a white onyx hexagon floor for improved traction and fewer grout lines. A shiplap accent wall, updated lighting, and tile extending to the ceiling completed the transformation into a bright and comfortable retreat.

- Added angled freestanding soaker tub
- Expanded the shower area
- Installed frameless glass shower enclosure
- Added white onyx hexagon shower flooring
