How the Pros Get Ready for a Kitchen Remodeling Project

An upgraded kitchen can do wonders for your home. It makes your home much more comfortable while giving you more space and flexibility, especially if you’re an avid cook. Upgrading your home’s kitchen also improves your home’s value. Granted, just like kitchen cabinet resurfacing, it’s possible to do it on your own, but you won’t get the most value out of your investment if you choose not to work with skilled kitchen remodelers.

To get the job done correctly and on time, you’ll need to know the different stages of a kitchen remodeling project done by a professional. In this post, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Madison explains more.

Needs Evaluation

Before starting the project, we’ll ask you a few questions to determine the pain points of your current kitchen. For example, you might lack space and find it difficult to cook, or lack space to store your dinnerware and other kitchen necessities. Sometimes, you might need more space for your dining area, or require a special addition to accommodate kitchen equipment. Letting us know these things beforehand allows us to find a solution to address these needs. In turn, you’re getting the most out of your kitchen remodeling project.

Tear-Down & Disposal

The first step of the actual kitchen remodeling process is tearing out your old kitchen and disposing of materials that can’t be reused. If your cabinetry is structurally sound but you don’t want to keep it, we may contact a local salvaged material retailer that specializes in kitchen cabinet removal. This is an environmentally friendly way to get rid of old cabinets and reduce the cost of demolition.

Electrical & Plumbing Assessment

Upgrading your kitchen means that you’ll have to change your lighting as well. With that being said, we’ll likely need to rewire or add more wiring. Rest assured that we’ll work with skilled and certified electricians to properly install new lighting and wiring. We’ll do the same for new appliances.

Next, we’ll assess your kitchen’s plumbing system before installing cabinets and other fixtures. We’ll work with a trusted plumber to install the plumbing system properly.
