Modernizing a Classic Kitchen
Our clients wanted to trade their traditional, light-toned kitchen for a sophisticated, modern space that felt intentional and expansive. The original layout was hampered by heavy “ledge” architecture and dated finishes—including seafoam-green tile countertops and a stained-glass window feature—that didn’t align with their vision for a clean, professional-grade kitchen.
As with many thorough renovations, the true work happened behind the walls. This project required a complete architectural “reset.” We removed the old, bulky ledges and soffits to open up the vertical space, which allowed us to install floor-to-ceiling cabinetry.
From Dated Architecture to Modern Sanctuary
Every renovation tells a story, and this Lubbock master bath had a few hidden chapters. The original space was defined by high, complex “plant ledges,” dated glass block walls, and carpeted flooring—a layout that felt segmented and dark.
During the demolition phase, we encountered a significant hurdle: active termite damage within the original framing. Before any beauty could be added, we prioritized the home’s integrity by replacing the damaged studs and performing a professional treatment to ensure a solid, lasting foundation for the new design.
The Transformation: Opening Up & Cooling Down
Our goal was to simplify the architecture. We stripped away the unnecessary overhead ledges and “nooks” to create a vaulted, airy ceiling that lets the room breathe.
