About The Neighborhood
Greater Rockwall is one of North Texas’s most sought-after communities — a vibrant, family-friendly region with beautiful homes, tree-lined neighborhoods, and an easy pace that belies its proximity to the booming Dallas business corridor.
The Challenge
What Was Not Working
- No wheelchair-accessible bathroom in the home - forcing the family to travel elsewhere to shower
- An in-home fall and injury making a solution immediately urgent
- A standard hall bathroom with no zero-barrier shower entry, no grab bars, and no wheelchair clearance
- Vanity and sink that did not accommodate wheelchair access
- A door width insufficient for wheelchair entry
Like many homes in Cave Springs, the master bath retained its original footprint — creating real functional limitations for a busy household and making what should be a personal retreat feel like an afterthought.

- Zero-barrier shower installed for safe assisted and unassisted access
- Grab bars installed throughout for support and stability
- Door widened structurally to accommodate full wheelchair access
- Vanity and sink reconfigured for wheelchair accessibility
- Accessible toilet features incorporated throughout
- Every accessibility feature was tailored to the family's specific needs through a collaborative design process
- Created a safer, more independent bathroom for both the wheelchair user and caregiver
