FROM DIM & OLDER – TO LIGHT & BRIGHT
Project Name
FROM DIM & OLDER - TO LIGHT & BRIGHT
Project Summary
This homeowner’s primary bathroom was nearing 30 years old, and they desired a full pull and replace update. The room was not as bright with limited lighting, had a small emerald green tiled shower, with a gold framed shower glass, an emerald green garden tub, a cubed glass window, gold faucet fixtures, no door to the toilet area, and two closets with insufficient shelving and needed organized storage. One of the closets had sliding, mirrored gold-trimmed doors needing replacement. The black granite countertops added to the darkness of the room. The light fixtures were gold and only produced a small amount of light. Popcorn texture was on the ceiling which was popular in the year the house was built. The light switches were gold in color. The flooring had smaller square tiles which required a lot of effort to keep the grout clean. Both the bathroom and closets needed painting. Some of the walls needed crack repairs due to previous foundation movement and repair. Permits were needed to perform the work and was coordinated and managed with the city by DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen.
Project Story
After living in and enjoying their home for nearly 30 years, these wonderful homeowners decided it was time to update their primary bathroom and closets. They wanted to refresh their bathroom with a new vanity, a larger shower, and transform the tub area from a garden tub to a freestanding tub. They also desired a new window, along with adding plantation shutters. A door was needed to separate the toilet room from the rest of the bathroom. Both the larger and smaller closets needed an organized system installed. They also desired new flooring, along with updated light fixtures, mirrors, and better sized exhaust vents for the area. A big desire was to install a beautiful chandelier which was done per code, along with additional ceiling lighting to brighten the room. New updated French closet doors were added replacing the mirrored, sliding doors.
