Project Overview
Every Family Has a Clubhouse. This One Finally Got the Kitchen to Match.
This Metter home has a name – the Clubhouse – and it has earned it. Three generations of one family have shared meals, marked milestones, and made memories here. When a frozen pipe caused water damage and forced the issue, the family decided the timing was right to give the kitchen the update it had needed for years.
DreamMaker turned an unexpected setback into the renovation the Clubhouse had always been waiting for.

About The Neighborhood
Metter is a close-knit Candler County community where family roots run deep and homes are passed between generations with care. A kitchen rebuilt for three generations of shared meals and celebrations fits the spirit of this community as naturally as the gatherings it was designed to hold.
The Challenge
What Wasn’t Working
Before the remodel, the space faced several challenges:
- A layout that made it genuinely difficult for more than a couple of people to be in the kitchen at the same time
- A peninsula creating awkward traffic flow in and out of the space during busy family gatherings
- A blind cabinet tucked into the peninsula consuming space without contributing anything useful
- Insufficient storage for a kitchen expected to serve three generations regularly
- Water damage from a frozen pipe forcing the conversation about updates that were already long overdue
For a home whose whole purpose is bringing people together, a kitchen that struggled to hold more than two people comfortably was a problem that couldn’t wait any longer.
BEFORE: THE ORIGINAL KITCHEN
“Once again DreamMaker gets the job done right for us. We appreciate their professionalism and they did exactly what they said they would do. The quality of the work was great – always on time and completed on schedule. They were in constant communication throughout the project and there were no surprises with billing. I knew before we started exactly how the renovation would look and exactly what it would cost. DreamMaker has done work for us before and they are our go-to company for anything we need in the future.”

Built Around How They Actually Live
DreamMaker’s central move was converting the peninsula to an island – a single change that immediately opened the kitchen to traffic from multiple directions and made gathering in the space what it should always have been. Every finish choice from there was made to honor the warmth and history of the Clubhouse while giving it the quality it deserved.
Key Improvements included:
- Peninsula converted to an island - creating natural entry and exit points from multiple directions throughout the kitchen
- Awkward blind cabinet eliminated along with the peninsula - reclaiming storage space in the process
- Gray stained cabinetry replacing the dated originals throughout
- Granite countertops bringing a quality finish to every surface
- LVP flooring installed for durability and a fresh look underfoot
- Painted paneling completing the transformation and tying the whole space together
