Investing in front-loading machines will give you a full-size washer and dryer option, which can be stacked on top of each other to save floor space. You can also build cabinets or shelving above for additional storage. You’ll need to install a vent to the exterior wall, which, if you have space, can run within the ceiling joists. Before you install the machines, make sure that the closet is spacious enough to fit at least a 2’6” wide door so that the machine doors can be conveniently accessed and fully opened. To fit full-size units, the ideal measurement is close to 3’0″ deep.
